As a business owner and active community member, I often have a million thoughts on the go. There are times where, despite my passion and dedication to my work, I feel taxed and overburdened by my responsibilities, and can feel my emotions and moods taking a turn for the worse. I have been practicing Western Reiki (Usui Shiki Ryoho Style) since 1997 and am currently Advanced level (level 3) in this system. When a friend in karate told me about someone trained in traditional Japanese Reiki, I was very interested. I have just completed Okuden (second level) in Jikiden Reiken with Mari Okazaki and am very pleased that I was introduced to her. It was a wonderful experience. I like Jikiden Reiki’s simple, down to earth, approach to Reiki. Mari is a very good instructor. She is friendly, knowledgeable, and very well organized. She is also is very accurate and precise about making sure that her students get it right. It is refreshing to have someone that can clearly explain the symbols and their origins as well teaching the Jikiden Reiki way of doing energy work. I highly recommend her to anyone interested in learning about Reiki.

My decision for taking the Jikiden Japanese Reiki training was determined by my prior knowledge and training in the Usui Reiki method and my introduction to the Master Tadao Yamaguchi by his student and translator Mari Okazaki.
In spite of being a level 2 Reiki in the Usui western method I had never felt inspired to move beyond this point in the practice of this healing art form as I felt there was something missing in the vast array of western teachers available to me to advance further. That was until I met Mari and her master teacher.
As a practicing homeopath I align with energy that is clear and pure. Mari embodies this form of pure energy through her practice and teaching of the Jikiden Reiki methods which I find to be the most powerful and direct source of Reiki I have ever encountered. I also believe this is so due to who Mari is as a person, a mother, a wife and a teacher. She is heart centered and is a living example of the Jikiden Reiki philosophy of living with a balanced mind and body.
Mari in time will be known as world class Reiki teacher but in my opinion she is already there.

My wife is good friends with Mari and strongly encouraged me to see her, by way of paying for and forceably driving me to an appointment with her when I was suffering from lower back pain. I was skeptical, but decided to give myself over to the process, realizing there was nothing to lose. Outside a general sense of well-being that ensued, Mari found the source of my discomfort as being a knot at the back of my right knee. I had had surgery on my left knee a couple of years before, and had likely been favouring the right for some time. She suggested that I kneed out the knot and my back pain would disappear. Needless to say she was exactly right, I simply sat in front of the TV, kneeded out the knot, and the pain was GONE the next day. It's neat stuff, and I highly recommend it.

I have just taken the Shoden level seminar with Mari and am very pleased and grateful. Not only did she explain everything clearly and naturally (in her second language, English), she was able to answer all of the questions from her students to our satisfaction. I would also like to note that I have received Reiki before, but Mari’s Reiki was especially potent. My physical reactions were very noticeable, and I could hardly believe that she had relieved the terrible neck/shoulder pain I’d been feeling all day. Finally, I want to say that Mari seems to be fully living the Gokai in her daily + family life. She is an excellent teacher and Reiki role model and mentor.

The distant Reiki healing was amazing, I have never experienced anything like that. As I mentioned to Mari and discovered after talking to Mari, that at the exact time that I felt my 2nd and 3rd chakra moving, calming down and could hear the releasing (loud gurgling sounds) is when Mari was giving me distant healing. WOW! So powerful! I immediately felt the calmness in my body. In fact, when my friend came up to check up on me she said I looked like a different person and boy did I ever feel the shift.

When I first began practicing massage 6 1/2 years ago, I was very excited at the measurable benefits that I could achieve through the manipulation of soft tissue. The more I practiced and the more experience I gained, I became aware of other sensations that massage could not address. It was then that I became more interested and intrigues by the energy aspect of my work.

After discussing Reiki in detail with a colleague at work, I decided it would be a great addition to my practice.

Having learned about Mari through a mutual friend, I went to see her for a Reiki treatment. Upon meeting Mari, her kind, gentle, caring and gracious manner allowed me to feel very comfortable. Following the session and the positive energy I experienced, I knew immediately this is the Reiki teacher I was seeking.
